not quite gone our way so far, the team continues to show great commitment and determination each
week.
The season opened with a match in the Studio 19 Shield against The
Standard. Despite a spirited
performance, Newton Le Willows were defeated
155–125. There were plenty of positives to take from the
game, including
several encouraging individual performances.
League action has since seen the team face some strong opposition:
Crakehall 7 – 2 Newton Le Willows
Newton Le Willows 2 – 7 Maunby
Fearby 7 – 2 Newton Le Willows
Newton Le Willows 4 – 5 Kirklington B
Skeeby 9 – 0 Newton Le Willows
The team came closest to success against Kirklington B, suffering a
narrow 5–4 defeat and finishing just
one game away from recording its first win
of the season. It was our strongest league performance to date
and demonstrated
what the team is capable of when things click into place.
While the results have yet to reflect the effort being put in by the
players, team spirit remains strong.
Every match has provided valuable
experience, and there have been encouraging signs of improvement
throughout the
squad. With plenty of fixtures still to come, there are many opportunities to
pick up points
and move up the table.
The team would like to thank everyone who has supported us so far this
season, both home and away.

Practice sessions continue every Tuesday and Saturday evening when the
bar is open, starting at 6.30pm.
New players are always welcome, regardless of
experience. If you've ever fancied giving quoits a try, now
is the perfect
opportunity to get involved.
